Day trip to Traben-Trarbach for your group: an original Christmas market set up in the town's vaulted wine cellars, in the heart of the Moselle Valley.
Traben-Trarbach, a small wine town on the Moselle, hosts a one-of-a-kind Christmas market during Advent: the Mosel-Wein-Nachts-Markt, set up in the vaulted cellars of the former wine merchants' houses. Your group goes from cellar to cellar discovering craft stalls, decorations and Moselle wines, before heading back up to the illuminated lanes. Above ground, the Art Nouveau façades, the bridge gate and the ruins of the Grevenburg bear witness to the town's rich past. Riesling mulled wine, gingerbread and regional specialities are all on the menu.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Drive to the Moselle Valley, with a stop along the way.
- Arrival in Traben-Trarbach in the late morning.
- Guided tour of the town and its Art Nouveau heritage (on request).
- Moselle wine tasting at a winegrower's, for adults (on request).

- Free time at the Christmas market in the vaulted wine cellars and in the streets of the town.
- Walk along the illuminated Moselle at nightfall.
- Departure from Traben-Trarbach in the early evening.

Good to know
- Departure and return times are adapted to your group's pick-up point.
- The market is generally open at weekends during Advent: dates vary from year to year and should be checked, and it gets very busy, especially on Saturdays.
- The cellars are cool and the stairs sometimes steep: bring warm clothing and comfortable shoes; the meeting point and time for the return to the coach are given on arrival.
