Day trip to Dortmund for your group: a large Christmas market in the heart of the city, around a giant Christmas tree made from hundreds of spruces.
The Dortmund Christmas market is one of the largest in Germany and stretches from the Hansaplatz to the Alter Markt and St Reinold's Church. Its star is a giant Christmas tree some 45 metres tall, billed as the largest in the world, assembled from around 1,700 spruces from the Sauerland and decorated with thousands of lights. Your group strolls among several hundred chalets offering decorations, crafts, mulled wine, potato pancakes and grilled sausages. Football fans can round off the day at the German Football Museum, just opposite the station.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Drive to Dortmund, with a stop along the way.
- Arrival in Dortmund in the late morning.
- Guided tour of the city centre and its churches (on request): St Reinold's, St Mary's and the Alter Markt.
- Visit to the German Football Museum (on request).
- Group lunch in a brasserie in the centre (on request) or free lunch.
- Free time at the Christmas market, from the Hansaplatz to the Westenhellweg, at the foot of the giant Christmas tree.
- Enjoy the illuminations at nightfall, with a mulled wine among the chalets.
- Departure from Dortmund in the early evening.
- Return to your area in the evening.

- The opening dates of the market vary from year to year and should be checked; Saturdays are very busy, so we recommend coming on a weekday.
- Bring warm clothing and comfortable shoes; the meeting point and time for the return to the coach are given on arrival.
