Day trip to the French Ardennes for your group: the Place Ducale, the Rimbaud Museum, the Great Puppeteer and Sedan Castle.
Just across the border, Charleville-Mézières is the birthplace of Arthur Rimbaud, to whom a museum is dedicated in the Old Mill. Its Place Ducale, built in the early 17th century, recalls the Place des Vosges in Paris. As the world capital of puppetry, the town is watched over by the Great Puppeteer, an animated clock that comes to life every hour. In Sedan, the castle, one of the largest in Europe, impresses with its ramparts and towers. A day of history, poetry and heritage, very close to Belgium.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival in Charleville-Mézières at around 10.00 am.
- Discovery of the Place Ducale (guided tour on request).
- Visit to the Arthur Rimbaud Museum.
- Performance of the Great Puppeteer on the hour.
- Reserved group lunch (on request).
- Drive to Sedan (about 30 minutes) and visit to the castle.
- Departure from Sedan at around 5.00 pm and return to your area in the evening.
